Introduction to South Bucks Jewish Community There
has been a Jewish community in the Amersham/Chesham area for many years.
In fact, there was a community during and after the last war as a result
of evacuation from London, and a small synagogue was built in Amersham
on the site where the British Legion Centre now stands.
SBJC
is a constituent member of liberal
judaism (was known as ULPS). Mission and Vision - What we want to achieve for SBJCOur mission statement is "to become the spiritual and communal centre for Liberal Jews, their families and friends in South Buckinghamshire." What SBJC has to offer you
Our
services are taken by Rabbi Rachel Benjamin and a variety of student
rabbis and lay leaders. We have
a dedicated religion school for the children, led by Rabbi Benjamin
and adult education sessions. There are regular chavurah and many social
events ....suppers, theatre outings, plus Judaica available locally. |
